Waiting for a Life Partner !?

Image
6 Things To Do While Waiting On Your God Given Spouse Most Christian singles talk about how they are waiting on God to give them their future spouse pretty often. We all want love and we want God to give us the right person to marry. We want God to bless us and sometimes we get angry when He doesn’t. I’ll be the first to admit it. I have been mad at God before because I felt He was taking too long to give me my spouse. It’s funny because when we get mad at God, we probably look like silly toddlers throwing a tantrum to Him. Being single is actually a good thing. Check out 1 Corinthians 7:8. Paul says, “To the unmarried and the widows I say that it is good for them to remain single as I am.” It gives us time to get closer to God which is the number one reason why we are on this earth. That and to help others get to know Him as well. Only God can truly make us happy. Ever seen a miserable married couple? Yea, they are everywhere. Having a spouse is not the solution to your problems. ...

What Do You Want !?

Image
When the two disciples heard him say this, they followed Jesus. Turning around, Jesus saw them following and asked, “What do you want?” -John 1:37,38 “What do you want?” Jesus asks you. It is such a simple  question, and yet you know that how you answer that question is going to shape the rest of your days. “I saw you following me,”Jesus says. You turn to your friend as a slight blush washes across your face. Then you look back to Jesus. His compelling force is so great that you don’t concern yourself with being embarrassed. Standing there, poised between your old life and the future, you feel alive like never before. Time seems to stand still. All the colours around you are vivid; the sounds are clear almost musical. What do you say when Jesus asks what you want? Do you even know what you want ? As you stand there, enclosed on a holy place even in the midst of a crowd, you examine your heart. Are you coming to Jesus out of curiosity? Do you have some need you think he might...

Guilt Free...

Image
Guilty cries the crowd, and they take up stones. The woman has no defender. Caught in the act, dragged out of the room. A cloak thrown around her shoulders to keep out cold. But it cannot hide her sin. Picture yourself as that woman-humiliated, terrified. You are thrust in front of your neighbors, townspeople, people you know. You feel ashamed. They look at you with disdain. you feel like a small child battered by the condemning look of those accusing people. You want to run and hide, but where can you go? Even your own heart condemns you. "Guilty!" It points a finger. A sharp stab of pain cuts at the core of who you are. Overwhelming by waves of sadness and shame, you sink to the ground, huddled in a heap. The crowd presses in. They tower over you, not only bearing down on you but also on Jesus, the one they are questioning. Instead of answering their questions, he bends down and writes in the dust. There is stillness about Him, a composure that will ...

Hope deffered !

Image
All was well with me, Now all is shattered within me. Stripped me of honor; Dreams banished forever. Crying never laid to rest, Eyes pouring out tears to God. Crushed with pain Reproached by words, Groping in darkness, Feet fastened with shackles. Becoming a laughing stock, Calling for help with no one to hear! Blown away like a chaff Days passed, plans shattered And so are the desires of my heart! As water wears away stone As torrents wash away the soil So is my hope washed away.  Many wounds with no reason Waiting for renewal to come Trembling seizes my body. Atleast there is hope for a tree, If it is cut down it will sprout again But i as a human can find no hope! Why is my hope uprooted like a plant? Where then is my hope? Who can see any hope for me? Is there someone to stand in the gap? Should i call this feeling as Hope deffered makes the heart sick!? At one point or the other we come to the point of life where we feel that all that we hoped for is now gone. Righ...

Blaming God versus Trusting God

Image
When what we feared comes upon us, what we dreaded has happened to us. When we could find no peace,no quietness,no rest. When we feel like God above doesn't care about us anymore. Having lost all hope you might feel like there are no true friends to stand by you. whenever someone questions you how you are doing...you wish that you could tell them that,"if only my anguish could be weighed and all my misery be placed on the scales! It would surely outweigh the sand of the seas." Or you might be thinking by yourself that you have no more strength to still  have hope. Everytime you go to bed you might be questioning "how long will this continue!?" Though you try to find peace at least in your bed even there you are frightened by the dreams. You might feel like you have become a burden and that's why you face all this pain! When our emotions are entangled in these feelings it is easy for us to blame God with wrong doing! We tell ourselves that God has...

Happily Ever After!

Image
Many of us wish that we had an “Happily ever after” life like how Disney offers to all its characters. But tell me, did Cinderella live happily ever after without a struggle? Did sleeping beauty live happily ever after without a trauma? Did Rapanzuel live happily ever after without a grief? Did Jack and the bean stalk live happily ever after without risk? Did Thumbelina live happily ever after without a sacrifice? Are there any fairy tales without any dragons? Where in the world, then, did we ever get the notion that to live happily ever after means to live without trouble? For when we look at the fairy tales we find it’s not the absence of dragons-but the taming of dragons-that ushers in happily ever after! In life we get to face problems, we face disappointments, countless failures. We come to a point where the only certainty in life is uncertainty. Even after you’ve done all you can possibly do, and yet your future is beyond your control. In our fight against thos...

My Daddy !

Image
At some point in our lives we come to a point where we feel like the only thing we held close to our heart is being taken away...without any prior notice, without any warnings some things that we adored just leaves us. When this happens we find ourselves to be broken, bruised emotionally. We feel like we have nothing more precious to lose anymore.  We feel like our happiness is gone. We feel like all the past memories are taunting us and so we tell ourselves that no one cares for us and we try to bear our own pain But the truth is there is someone who knows how much it hurts you...It’s quite encouraging to have a heavenly father who has always been there by our side to wipe our tears, to bind our wounds, to hear our heart’s cry... In fact, He indeed feels the pain we feel; He understands every prayer behind your sighs...He has been faithful to hold your hand to lead you and to be with you. When we as His children ask Him for something in our prayers, he not just gives what we h...

Raise above the storms !

Image
A turkey and an eagle react differently to the threat of a storm. A turkey reacts by running under the barn, hoping the storm won't come near. On the other hand, an eagle leaves the security of its nest and spreads its wings to ride the air currents of the approaching storm, knowing they will carry it higher in the sky than it could soar on its own. Based on your reaction to the storms of life, which are you? A turkey or an eagle? It's natural for me to be a turkey in my emotions, but I have chosen to be an eagle in my spirit. And as I have spread my wings of faith to embrace the "Wind," placing my trust in Jesus and Jesus alone, I have experienced quiet, "everyday" miracles: His joy has balanced my pain. His power has lifted my burden. His peace has calmed my worries. His grace has been more than adequate to cover me. His strength has been sufficient to carry me through. His love has bathed my wounds like a healing balm. Soaring has become a...

Agape ❣️

“Yes, Jesus loves me, Yes, Jesus Loves me…” It became one of the world’s most popular Christian hymns. My question is  “Why does Jesus love me?”  I can understand why I love Him, but I cannot understand why He loves me. At times I am unlovable. I do not deserve His love. But my  faults  do not  fade  His love. My  goodness  does not make His love  greater . My  faith  does not  favor  His love. My  errors  do not  erase  His love. I can  forget  Him, but He will never  forsake  me. Never! (Heb.13:5). When it seems no one cares, He cares (I Pet.5:7). At times I fail, but He forgives and forgets. He gives me daily benefits, yet I focus on myburdens.  Why?  His love is not human, but holy. His love is not selfish, but supernatural. His love is beyond understanding (Phil.4:7). His love never diminishes, dims or decreases. Dear friend, the Lord Jesus also loves you. You may rej...

Handling Temptations !

Temptation is one of the commonest human experiences. We will face temptations every day. Even though it is very common, not a lot of believers are equipped to deal with temptation. In studying the anatomy of temptation, there are seven truths: 1.Temptation comes from the devil, even Jesus was tempted by devil. 2. Temptation thrives in isolation- temptation came to Jesus when He was alone 3. Temptation always starts with a question- when the serpent wanted to tempt Eve he put forth a question, he said Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?4. Temptation is a function of desire, 5. Temptation usually has a geographical connection, 6. Temptation does not become sin until you agree with it, 7. Temptation does not have to become sin- being tempted is not a sin falling into temptation is sin. We think that it is God, who tempts us but the truth is No! Temptation originates from the devil. "But every person is tempted when he is ...

Past is Past !

We all have a calendar hanging up in our house. Calendars have many uses.we use calendars to remind us of things. It helps us to remember the best days. We also keep track of our appointments with the doctor. We schedule vacations and soo on !a holiday, and birthdays. What else do we do with calendars?                                  A calendar is a very valuable, isn't it? But there is one small problem with the calendars. They expire, they cannot be used after that particular year. And an expired calendar is really no good. Because the dates in this calendar have already happened. It's in the past.    You know, this calendar reminds me of my own past. There are times in my life I wish I could forget, times when I sinned or made mistakes. If this calendar held a record of the mistakes I made this year, I'd be embarrassed to show it to you. I bet all of you would say the same....

Conquerors of our PAST !!!

Human beings are manipulated by memories. Some bring a smile when we think of it and some bring tears...the memories that bring tears were the incidents which kept up us awake the whole night and those memories are something which we wanted to forget. We keep struggling with it and somehow try to forget it but, every time we come across a particular r word, a particular name, a particular dress, a particular area or a particular person all those memories flush back into our mind. No matter how hard we try to forget those memories it keeps coming back making us to feel the ache in that particular scar again and again. We all feel if only we had a chance to fix it we would gladly do so; but the fact is the past can never be changed.                                                                         ...

Just Wait...

Image
Waiting can be the hardest thing to do. In the waiting, we feel like nothing is getting accomplished. This causes us to worry and do things outside of God’s will. But it’s in the waiting when our part is done and it’s now  God’s part  to do.  Just wait . There’s one thing that I’m really bad at and it’s  waiting . When God asks me to wait,  I think of a million things that I could be doing. The more I see time pass and nothing seems to be getting accomplished, I become  anxious . For those of you who are ambitious achievers like me, we think that it’s only in the doing that we can achieve. The truth is,  waiting is as important as doing . When God asks us to wait, He is simply saying our part is done and now it’s  His part to do .  Proverbs 16:9  says, “ In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps. ” We can’t accomplish our God-sized tasks without God. He does this to show us ...

Divine Design !

Many of us struggle to accept ourselves. Either we don’t like the way we look or we’re unhappy with our abilities. Comparing ourselves with others only makes matters worse. Before long, we feel substandard and begin doubting our worth. Scripture says that knowing the truth sets us free (   John 8:32). In this case, knowing the truth sets us free to be who God made us to be. So, what is that truth? God divinely designed each one of us. “You created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb” (Psalm 139:13).  We might feel tempted to say, “Why, then, did You knit me with frizzy hair and no musical abilities?” But let’s not do this. It only leads to further discontent. Instead, let’s respond as the psalmist did. “I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well” (verse 14). Let’s trust that God made no mistakes when He designed us, and let’s tell Him so. God created Adam and said, “It is very good.” He says t...

A divine love !

Why should a great God notice the tears that came out of my eyes this morning at breakfast-even when no one noticed it!? why should a king of kings care about the worries that kept me awake until three this morning !? why should a Glorious God be concerned about the fact that i am broken and that i needed help!? Bible says that this is the kind of Love that God has for us ! He loves us as a father has compassion on His children. maybe you may have not had a dad like that ...but you have a loving FATHER !  Let Him hold you and let him wrap his arms around you so that with His help the worst scribbling's of your life could become a great masterpiece .!

Pain of injury is smaller than the pain of recovery... but if you embrace that pain of recovery you will come out much stronger !

end matters!

At the end of the day...none of us would remember the time spent in anger, revenge....rather we would cherish the good memories...good lessons...good people that we had during some experiences in our life time..!
